3 Step IT is expanding in Finland
Press release April 12, 2016
3 Step IT, which specialises in IT leasing, asset management and the resale of used IT equipment, has appointed Marko Tarkiainen as the new Managing Director of 3 Step IT Finland. Tarkiainen’s mission will be to further expand the company’s service offering. He returns to Finland from the position of Vice President of Corporate Printing and Services Sales at Hewlett Packard’s EMEA, headquartered in Geneva, and starts in his new position at the beginning of April.
Tarkiainen has more than 20 years of international experience in the IT sector, and holds a strong view on the development of comprehensive IT services.
“Companies are increasingly willing to buy their IT as a service, without owning the equipment. We will be seeking business growth by complementing our core competencies with value-adding life-cycle services for IT equipment. Finland is in the forefront of the IT revolution and is currently undergoing intense digitalization. This will increase the demand for IT services, and makes it an especially interesting market for 3 Step IT,” says Tarkiainen.
“I am very pleased that Marko is joining us. His international background and experience in management of IT services is a perfect fit for our growth ambitions. In 2015, 3 Step IT acquired the IT services company Nevtor, thus adding new services and capabilities to our portfolio. Under Marko’s leadership we will complete the integration and expand our offerings and partnerships to give our clients access to the IT Technology they need to enable them to grow in the digital age,” says Carmen Ene, the CEO of 3 Step IT Group.
“In a change situation, it is important to communicate enough and keep the personnel actively involved, as well as constantly developing the competencies of the employees,” says Tarkiainen, who had extensive experience in change management during his years at Hewlett Packard.
3 Step IT, founded in Finland in 1997, has been growing profitably. Last year, sales amounted to EUR 465 million and the profit before taxes excluding non-recurring items was EUR 19.5 million. The company employed 355 people in 11 countries at the end of 2015. 3 Step IT was ranked as one of the best places to work in the Finnish ‘Great Place to Work’ initiative, and was the only company taking part, to hold its place in the list 10 years in a row. In addition to this, 3 Step IT was also acknowledged for its B2B sales efforts by the Finnish Quality Association, who awarded the company the title of ‘Best Finnish Sales Organisation 2015’.
