Evrim Eravci - circle

As 3stepIT expands into the United States and Canada, our Chief Expansion Officer, Jonas Rosqvist, sat down with Evrim Eravci to discuss his decades of industry experience and his new role as 3stepIT’s Chief Commercial Officer – Lifecycle Services.

Jonas: Welcome, Evrim! To start, can you share how your career in the technology industry began?

Evrim: My journey in this industry began more than two decades ago, at a time when terms like ITAD (IT Asset Disposition) and Lifecycle Services were not yet widely recognized in the IT marketplace. Back then, structured, programmatic, or contractual service models—especially those focused on risk mitigation, sustainability, circularity, and transparency—were nearly non-existent. Instead, engagements were highly transactional, often centred around the straightforward need to liquidate products. Due diligence in downstream processes was minimal, and the primary value proposition was based on the price companies could offer for used IT assets.

In the pre-Internet era, access to reliable information and subject matter expertise was crucial, yet global services and trading networks were difficult to establish. This resulted in a highly localized and fragmented partner ecosystem, forcing companies to work with multiple providers to address their global challenges—something that, as we know, adds risk, complexity, and cost to partner management. Recognizing these inefficiencies, I saw a significant opportunity to build a truly global platform for IT asset trading and lifecycle services, designed to support large enterprises struggling with these very challenges.

This vision led me to a nomadic career, living and working across key global markets to establish deep, trusted relationships with partners who could help us bring real value to enterprise clients. I remain incredibly grateful to my original business partners and our staff, for their role in launching and scaling our first venture. Looking back, I feel fortunate to call this industry my home. My passion for solving challenges and driving successful outcomes has made it feel like I’ve never worked a day in my life.

Jonas: What attracted you to the industry?

Evrim: Working with technology places your business at the core of an organization’s most critical needs. It’s an incredible privilege to be part of the IT and IT Channel, where we operate alongside some of the most cutting-edge initiatives, driven by the ever-growing demand for rapid and reliable communication, computing power, and storage capacity.

From a business perspective, I’ve always believed in following the path of greatest growth opportunity. The reality is that every company, in some way, shape, or form, relies on digital devices, and every organization has a need for services that optimize and manage those assets. That’s precisely what we offer through 3stepIT’s end-to-end Technology Lifecycle Management services.

Beyond the technology itself, what really excites me about this industry is the role we play in risk mitigation. Every time a technology asset enters or exits an organization, it introduces potential risks—whether operational, financial, or reputational. Our job is to help businesses navigate and minimize these risks, ensuring they can confidently focus on their core operations.

The industry continues to evolve, showing impressive compound annual growth, particularly among large enterprises with expansive global footprints. In today’s landscape, trust and transparency are the most valuable currencies in any business partnership. That’s one of the key reasons I was drawn to 3stepIT—its outstanding reputation in the marketplace, combined with its strategic partnership with BNP Paribas, creates a powerful foundation of trust that resonates with global clients.

Jonas: Can you tell us more about why you joined 3stepIT?

Evrim: This is an easy one – 3stepIT had the winning combination of culture plus capability.

After decades in the industry, I’d always valued how seamless it was to work with 3stepIT. The company operates with fairness and brings true partnership to every interaction. From day one the culture fit, and that’s a powerful starting point.

I could also see that other organisations understood this too. 3stepIT is backed by some of the world’s largest and most trusted financial institutions, which belong to the most highly regulated industries on earth. We all know the rigour these organisations put into their partnership choices, so I knew I was on the right track.

Then, as I explored 3stepIT’s offerings it was clear that the company stands out in the market on capabilities, particularly with the business intelligence it can offer its customers through its bespoke asset management platform, as well as APIs that connect seamlessly with customer’s existing systems.

Add to that the unique innovations developed by the 3stepIT team, such as its Artificial Intelligence tool for grading used devices, which has introduced an industry-first data-led assessment of residual value - no one in the world is doing that today.

Jonas: What are you hearing from businesses today about their technology needs?

Evrim: Many companies today operate on a global scale, which naturally adds complexity to their technology management. Since technology underpins their core operations, businesses are seeking solutions that eliminate friction and enhance efficiency.

Organizations also want comprehensive, scalable services that address all aspects of technology lifecycle management. Managing multiple service providers is both costly and time-consuming, so businesses are increasingly looking to consolidate, minimizing contracts and streamlining vendor relationships wherever possible.

This is where 3stepIT is uniquely positioned. As a single provider offering end-to-end circular technology management solutions, we help companies simplify their operations. With over 4 million devices under management, we have the scale, infrastructure, and trusted reputation to deliver seamless, efficient, and sustainable services that global enterprises demand.

Jonas: Looking ahead, what does this mean for 3stepIT as we expand into North America and Canada?

Evrim: Expanding into North America, along with enhancing our current portfolio and entering the data center market as a new product category, marks a significant evolution for 3stepIT. This expansion enables us to provide truly end-to-end lifecycle services across multiple markets, offering a scalable, efficient, secure, and sustainable circular model for all technology needs.

We are excited to bring our expertise and innovative solutions to support businesses in North America and our existing global clients with a presence in the region.
